On September 20th and 21st, OUTFOX held its second in-person consortium meeting, hosted by project partners VTT and Elcogen OY. The OUTFOX project schedule includes consortium meetings every 3 months, alternating between online and in-person formats, ensuring a comprehensive insight into the progress of each work package. This approach promotes transparency and keeps all partners well-informed, fostering productive collaboration.

During this meeting, each of the work package leaders presented the progress made in the first eight months of the project. They discussed mitigation strategies for risks identified in the grant agreement, as well as new risks, allowing for in-depth discussions and future planning. Each day concluded with a tour of partner facilities, first at VTT and then at Elcogen OY.

Several partners shared their successes with the consortium, including:

  • Delivery of reference scale cells and stacks by Elcogen AS and Elcogen OY, which lead to the successful completion of the first project milestone.
  • Improvements of electrochemical performance of the next generation cells with 900 cm2 area towards the project’s end goal.
  • Ongoing development of a plant model for techno-economic and scale-up analysis.
  • First discussions around data management and making data FAIR completed.
  • Overall project progress is at 20%.

The project coordinator, Cahit Benel from TNO, closed the event, with the next meeting to be held online in early January 2024.
